1. STUDENTS THRIVE IN A POSITIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT.
My aim is to create a safe and respectful space for learning. I strive to improve students’ sense of well-being and to nurture their growth.
2. TO TEACH PIANO IS TO PROVIDE A HOLISTIC EDUCATION.
In addition to teaching students how to play the piano, I aim to provide a well-rounded music education including music listening, music literacy, problem solving and creative thinking skills.
3. EVERY STUDENT IS UNIQUE.
I aim to tailor my teaching to each student’s unique learning needs and goals. That means that no student receives the exact same teaching approach from me and that the pacing of the lessons and the pieces studied are adjusted accordingly.
1. STUDENT CENTERED.
I encourage students to engage in their lessons, to take initiative in their own piano learning, and to express their individuality.
I listen carefully to what my students have to say and then direct learning as needed. I enjoy structured plans as well as “going with the flow” in my lessons.
l love to incorporate digital tech, repertoire by underrated and emerging composers, and up-to-date ideas from music education research into my teaching.
